Hal Taylor rocker

My Hal Taylor rocker project is starting to look like a chair. Seems like a 40K step project, at least the first time when you have to make all the jigs also. Glue up for the legs is later this week, stress level is building....

Well once again it looks like I can't post things in the correct orientation, don't injure your selves leaning over to look at my photos.

Last night and today I have been working on arm blanks. These show the process to cove the arms, the arm in the jig was cut with an incorrect fence setting, I had to make a second set.... Shown with the template.

The next step is to make a swing jig for cutting the headrest. This is mostly interesting due to my giant drill press. When you gotta drill something big....

That's going to be nice! I've never made chairs, and it's something that interests me quite a bit. I'm looking forward to the rest of the project.

The headrest is made from 6 pieces of wood, coopered and then cut on a 281/2" curve. This allows the grain to run vertical to match the seat. these photos show me cutting the glued up coopered blank into the curve.
