Default Northern Hardwood Table top

So, just as I'm getting back into the swing of things with regard to my brother's Journey Box, I get a request for a table top made from very rustic Northern Hardwood. Gum pockets and veins everywhere!!

Never the less we went for it. I used epoxy to fill the gum pockets and and veins. With the veins and small imperfections, I used Proof Tint (black) mixed with the epoxy.

The final finish was Hard Burnishing Oil. I think it actually came out OK.

Here's some pics:

Regards,

Rob

That one in the middle was more than a pocket - perhaps a small pond?
