This is the garden tool box I made form my wife. Nice to finally get something completed.

Nice! I'm going to guess you cut the decorative slots in the end with a Domino?

Very nice job. I'm with Alex on the domino decorations. And did you hold the miters together with dominos? What size?

Re: Garden toolbox

Sorry to disappoint but I do not have a Domino. The end panel decorations were done with a drill press, chisel and a small sanding drum on the drill press. The handle was my first lather project.

The only Festools used were my Kapex and RO90.

Well then, I'm even more impressed. Did you put any reinforcement on the mitered corners?

(And maybe you should look into a Domino...) :stirthepot:

I forgot to say the corners are drawer lock joints, just glued.

The end panel decoration is free form, which means they are not perfectly cut or laid out, my goal was to make them look like flowers.

Looks great. What is the timber?

Scrap bin Baltic Birch Ply and Cherry.

The grain on the end panel looks like the maple ply I used to build some shop cabinets. Is it from the same sheet you used for the sides?

I bought a sheet at my local hardwoods store and it had lots of dark and light colorations like yours. But in recent trips to the store the maple ply looked pretty much like the birch.

Lee, they were cutoffs from this project earlier this year. I have no idea about the sides but I do not think so, just a sheet off my stack of left over Baltic sheets.
