Default Blanket Box in Spotted Gum

This is a blanket box (900l x 500w x 600h) made of Spotted Gum (new) floorboards. ( I know it's Spotted Gum, cause I'm the one who spotted it!)
It has two soft close hinges attached, which help reduce the closing speed. It would have been necessary to have stronger hinges custom made to get any more resistance.
Spotted Gum (Eucalyptus maculata) is very, very heavy!!
The dovetails were done using a Leigh D4R jig and the finish is burnished Wattyl Teak Oil. (You can see the hinges reflected in the lid.)

I don't have as many tools as most people here...but Gee I've got some pretty hardwoods!
