Default There's wood.....then there's River Red Gum

Hi all,
Here's a couple of pics of what will be a box lid. It has been sanded to 400g (pic#1) then swabbed with 25% Liberon Pure Tung Oil in White Spirits. Nothing further was done to it. Cute Huh?

I don't have as many tools as most people here...but Gee I've got some pretty hardwoods!

Very nice! And not cheap I presume? It reminds me of the wavy bubinga slab I had. That was an amazing piece of wood. It got spray finished though.

The piece is about 1 metre x 270mm x 35mm and it cost me A$45.00. Not too bad. Just at the right place at the right time.
