Cool, Okamisan! Thanks for the poor-man's upholstery lesson. Could we get a picture of the whole chair?

Yep, these go out on Sunday with the slab table. Should be able to snap a few pictures then:)

Been a bit slack getting this photo up:takebow:

Well, we took a trip to Nagasaki to deliver this dining set. Upon arrival we discovered the slab table and chairs had to go up a very narrow, winding staircase..( I wasn't pre-warned ) the front doors also had to come off to make the sharp turn into the hallway:eek: my worst nightmare:rofl: this table is very heavy..
Anyway, we got it up without damaging it ( but I did get a slight pull in my shoulder muscle..I was the one at the bottom, taking most of the weight:D ).

Here's a picture of it in it's new home, the picture quality isn't great..with limited time and the glare from the window that was the best I could do:)
All in all we had a fun day!! I was a little sad to see the table go, I'd had it for about 7-8months, and it was the most stubborn piece of wood I've ever worked with..it had a really strong character:clapping1:
Cheers!

Wow 2 :thumbsup2:

The chairs have an equally strong character as the bubinga slab.
At least the backs do. The front legs are out of character with the backs.
I wish they were thicker and curved too.

Wow 3. The table is just stunning. The finish on the table is amazing, and the wood is just incredible with its figure and live edge. The sinuous curves of the chair backs make a nice envelope for the table, though I agree with Michael that the front legs are a bit unbalanced with the beautiful backs. But I'd still love to have that set in my house! :takebow:
