Default There's a fool born every...............

Hi everyone

The Design Within Reach (whose?) catalog came yesterday, and I was flipping though it when I came across these

Pine Bookends (Set of 2) - Design Within Reach

I thought it was a typo, but checked on the web and saw the same price.

I mean...............REALLY!

Grab those 2x4s and you can make some expensive Xmas presents.

And they wonder why there is a consumer slow down........... I think it is more of a consumer "smart up"

Jay

Jay, I can't believe that.

Either they've got the price wrong (maybe $15.00?), or there's more to these things then we can see from just the one view.

Well - in their defense, you'd have to use 4x4's to reproduce them. The extra $140 is to purchase the saw...

Actually, you'd have to start with 4x6 stock since the cross section in 3.5 x 4.5. Surely the design studio deserves $100 a pair for dreaming up this astounding idea.

Maybe it's a $100 installation fee - comes with its own designer...

What's astounding isn't so much the quality of the idea as the chutzpah of this product.

I guess we know where the Pet Rock guys are working these days.
