Default Rain rain go away

I don't know what the weathers like where you live and by no way am I moaning to loudly as I know many people are worse off than myself due to hurricane Ike ..... but its been raining here pretty heavily for 3 days solid (here is 60 miles south of Chicago in Illinois) the four sump pumps in my house are working overtime and having a hard time keeping the water at bay..... fingers crossed that they can hold out a little longer as the forecast says it will stop later this evening. for all you people who are in a worse position than me my thoughts are with you .....

Colin,

Storms sure can be a devastating thing. We only get 5"-6" a year here so we are usually hoping/praying for rain. I spent a little time in Arkansas and one night we got 8", yes that was pretty bad. I like when the first decent rain comes to clean off the tile roof. If gets all over the concrete on the ground but most of the time our roof's are all covered with dust so you can hardly tell what color you have.

Well,

We have the most beautiful weather for the rest of the week. We are in the lowest 80's and at night is upper 60's.

I guess it is how they said after the "calm before the storm" and I would add "The calm after the storm". We had a threat 2 weeks ago with Hurricane Gustav and last weekend Hurricane Ike hit Houston and Galveston. It was a tremendous storm. No power, water, curfew from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM for a week , but the weather is great.

I am mostly ok, family with no injuries is great. House had some damages but I can fix it. Others are not that lucky, it was really bad.
