I do a little cooking and baking (well, more baking than cooking).

Most of the cookware is All-Clad and some Calphalon and others.
Most of the knives are Wusthof.
Most small appliances are KitchenAid and Cuisinart. The stove is KitchenAid.
And two bookshelves full of cookbooks.

Tom.

Yes Peter, Its Rinderrouladen
Your recipe is about right but the dish is subject
to many variations.
One trick when you have to make a lot of them
is to clean your work table well and season it with
salt and pepper. I don't know where you come from
but around here work tables don't come seasoned.
lay your pieces of meat in a double row and smear
the mustard on with your hand. Add the chopped onions,
I add some thyme to them. put on your bacon and dill
pickle and roll. place in a roasting pan seam side down.
I make a mixture of oil and mustard and coat the tops
Brown in a 375 oven for half a hour then cover with
beef, veal, or chicken stock, cook until tender.
Remove and keep warm while you make a sauce from
the pan juices.
yell if you want the recipe for jagerrouladen

I love to grill and am not half bad at it. The true cook is my wife most anyone that eats her food says that she is a chef. What she is really great at is baking, she makes a chocolate raspberry cake with a hot chocolate whip cream icing. There are so many other recipes that are awesome I can't even begin to name them

Bob:

Thanks for the answer. Dad used to use a pressure cooker. He probably used a tougher cut of meat and needed to shorten the cooking time. Onions are used by all my brothers, I didn't remember them. I personally brown them in the bottom of the cooking pot, then add beef stock, red wine, lea & perrins, some of the pickle juice, etc. Then simmer away.

My sister once discovered one of Dad's with a jalapeno inside. Seems he was short just one pickle. She didn't like it.

Thanks again.

Peter
