Default Staircase

I got this in an email and I thought this was beautiful and it needed to be shared with people who love to work with wood. This is in a 130 year old chapel in Sante Fe, NM. There is a story of a miracle that goes along with this picture, if you are interested PM me and I will forward the Powerpoint Presentation to you.

I've seen that staircase - it's almost inconceivable. Thanks for sharing it!

Woodchuck,

That's an amazing piece of work. I think the miracle was getting that built and having it last 130 years!

Thanks for posting this.

Regards,

Dan.

Been there and have a picture somewhere. The really remarkable thing is that it had no handrail at all for a long time. It was added much later. They have a picture of the girls descending the stairs with large candles in hand and no rail.

Supposedly a monk came out of the desert and constructed the stairs, mysteriously disappearing after their completion.
