Thanks to all for feedback regarding the 17mm thickness gauge. looking back through my notes I couldn't find any match ups for 17mm in metric sheet goods or recommended cabinet parts.

That being said if there seems to be enough interest we could make some. not that it would be a big deal but there isn't a spot for it in the case either.

Thanks again. I appreciate the support we get from this group.

Richard,

I think you should do what is best for you. It seems to me that there is a lot of division as to whether or not the 17mm is worthwhile or not. As I mentioned to you, I only brought it up because I did not understand why the jump from 16mm to 18mm. I would take one just to satisfy what may be a small case of OCD.

By the way, we also appreciate the support that we get from you. It is awfully nice to hear directly from the owner.

Fred

Personally, I don't see the lack of a 17mm gauge as a big deal. Most setup kits have far fewer pieces than the woodpecker set, with the notion that one can just use multiple pieces (e.g. 15+2 or 10+5+2 for 17) to get to any desired number.

But I'm probably missing something here...

Ah, Jesse, with a standard set-up block/ gauge you are right, one could just stack them up to achieve the desired thickness. These are a different type, with a male and female side.

Doh!
But with that design - you would need a unit for every measurement you ever wanted to make!! Doh, again!
