If you're looking for slatwall to paint in mdf, and if you own a Festool router and guiderails and guiderail attachment for the router, why don't you look for a router bit to cut the slatwall slots. Try a google search.
Otherwise look in your local phonebook for a company that does store fixtures. They may able to get it for you or make it for you. Outwater plastics on the web is another possible source - but I suspect shipping would be costly. Peter |

Hi,
Looks like Amazon has a bunch, plus hooks and accessories. And Rockler has a router bit to make it (also on the Amazon page). Amazon.com: slatwall I could see that making it would allow for a little more customization of panel sizes and slot placement. Seth |

Can't buy it where I'm at so I just make it myself... I use a Whiteside http://www.whitesiderouterbits.com/c...es07/tslot.gif bit on 3/4" MDF with the OF1400 on the rail. Doesn't take very long but sure does make a huge pile of sawdust. Slatwall is of course nice because you can use slatwall hooks and also the larger diameter peg board hooks were well on it too. Lots of options for sure.

I have run miles of grooves w/ this bit and it's still going strong. If you have the time to invest, you can make your own for about 30% the investment in materials.
Slatwall Bit - Woodcraft.com I picked this one over the Whiteside because the Whiteside recommends cutting a 1/4" straight groove first. This one cuts all in one pass.

Looks the same as the Whiteside, double flute carbide. I've always just cut the groove in a single pass with the Whiteside Bit. I'm sure it's easier on the bit and router cutting some of the material away first with a straight cutter but who's got the time and patience for that? Either way it's a lot of material to take off in one pass but it works well.
