Does that make sense?
But it sounds like you cut the length of the jig slightly longer than the guide rails and it is attached to the rails somehow. Could you expand a little more on this? Pictures would be nice.
Sorry, no pictures. I can try to get some over the weekend.

The strip is about 14" long, 1/4"w and 2" tall. the 1/4" (not sure if this is the exact dimension) is the width of the slot. The jig rides in the previous slot, providing even spacing to the next. The guide rails never come into play, just the edge/slot guide.

I just thought of another jig (better). I'll try it over the weekend....

That would be great if you could take some pictures. Also, let me know how much dust flies when you mill it.
Cheers!

Sorry sT, I didn't get a chance to take any pics this weekend (and honestly, I forgot until I was browsing here, just now.

I was busy building a new router table for one of my 3 non-Festool power tools (a Triton router). I did start trying the new idea I mentioned, and I think it will work great and be easier to replicate for others.

It involves the use of 1/2 of the guide stop (guide rail adaptor) for the OF1400 coupled with a bit of hard wood. My table will make this jig easier to produce, so stand by...

For anyone interested in slatwall systems. . .

I just went with my spouse to the Linens & Things closeout sale. To my surprise they were listing their fixtures for sale as well as the merchandise they normally carry. They had large slatwall panels starting at a relatively low price.

If you have the ability to take them from the store (I don't) this is likely to be the least expensive supply you will find.

Thanks for the tip C9633A66DDFB767AA22 and welcome to the forum!

Do you know C9633A66DDFB767AA23? Your names are so similar it's uncanny. I only ask because he owes me $7, but, no biggy either way.

However, I'm probably not the first to suggest that your name is rather unwieldy (I'm sure glad this isn't a shortwave forum) and that it would be a friendly gesture to shorten it to something like, C963A6DFB767A2. What do you think? If that looses too much in translation maybe you could go for a code name, something easy to type as a stand in for your preferred handle, you know, something like "Alan".

Thanks C9633A66DDFB767AA22 , I ran down to my local Linens and Things and reserved 6 sheets of 4' x 10' panels for $50/ea. It's in a nice natural wood finsh. (Is that a good deal?)
Now what am I gonna do with that Whiteside bit I just bought?

Toolman, I'm interested in your hardware....how much do you have and what are you looking to get? Pictures would be nice. PS Welcome to the forum!

I think you did ok on the slatwall. I priced some 4x8 melamine and it was about $90 a sheet as I recall.

I guess I have to say sorry again. I have had this hardware on craigslist on and off for a while with no takers and this afternoon someone bought it. If I come across any more I'll post it. hopefully I get my shop cleaned up and start working in it again and can get into some conversations in here in the future.
