Re: Steve Jobs RIP

Next was ahead of its time. I dunno the management problems it may have had, but the product was ultra-cool. Getting apps for it was its Achilles' heel. it also pioneered software distribution on...

Thanks for the link and the link to your blog about the diamond pattern. I haven't read it (I'm still at work :() but will soon. The diamond pattern looks really nice; a great variant on the basic...

Re: WIA 2011

Actually, that reminds me that I was going to ask you for the web site you mentioned that had some pretty crazy shoji. I have a ranma and a plan I drew up for a large shoji for my dining room, but...

Re: So, you want to be a cabinetmaker.

We should have had Rutager script the dialog between him and Fred when he tricked him into buying another plane.

Re: WIA 2011

Have to admit, the power tool vendors didn't look as busy as, say, the Vesper booth.

Also have to admit that when the bandsaw demo started, it was annoyingly loud.

Funniest moment of the WIA...

Re: WIA 2011

OMG, a Festool remark on talkFestool!

I sculpted a Mahogany vanity with the RAS-115. I got chips, but no real fine dust unless I screwed up with setting the catcher. The proof was in not...

Re: 2011/09/30 - WIA 2011!

No complaints about the scheduling work you did, Peter. I was just thinking aloud about how nice it would have been in such an atmosphere.

As for Walnut Street Grill, I've hardly eaten since that...

Re: 2011/09/30 - WIA 2011!

I forgot to add that I learned that John E has true hockey humor. We're walking and he's telling a story about public skating with his wife. He makes the comment about how hockey is so much better...

Ha! This forum is crazy... threads keep alive even when everybody is at WIA :)

I had a blast and finally got to meet everybody in person. So many people to meet and it seemed like no time to do...

Video Review of the SCG-10 Self-Centering Guide for the Domino

I put up a video review of the SCG-10 (http://www.halfinchshy.com/2011/09/domino-self-centering-guide-scg-10.html) last night on my blog. It also goes over the accessory, how to calibrate it (a...

Re: Need external back-up drive - suggestions?

She'd want a way to...

Re: Need external back-up drive - suggestions?

For a Mac or Windows?

If she shoots that much, I would go immediately for a RAID rack so you can toss in more drives later.

Re: What's this?

A copper bowl, uncoated. Uncoated copper is traditional for raising egg whites (monter en neige) as the copper acts as a catalyst for the protein denaturing that allows the egg whites to capture air...

Re: Promotional Offer on Sanders

Actually, I was told it was all round-headed sanders, so the Rotex, ETS, and RAS :)

I need some new heads; God knows my current head doesn't always work right.

Re: Current production / shipping schedule?

Worse is the lack of decent notice. I have yet to get an email about delays; I have to wonder why nothing has arrived before looking at the schedule.

Also noticeable is that posts here and on FOG...

Re: Reno AIr Race crash

There's a private airpark 1/2 mile from my house; 2 runways in a community of houses with "2 car 1 plane" garages. About 6 months ago, an old fighter pilot was flying an old vintage plane. Somehow...
