Re: Sharpening for the newbie

Bolt your MFT to the wall. I did with a star nut. Quick to undo and it greatly increases the stability. In my case, I could only secure the back left side. If you could do two points, it would be...

Re: Sharpening for the newbie

Coincidentally last night I had to sharpen two chisels and ended up doing 8 as the others could use a touch up.

Re: iPad keyboard, nicely retro

I was definitely liking everything on the site. What I found strange, though, is that the typewriter was in no product section, even 'all products'. Only shown on the home page as 'most viewed'.

Re: iPad keyboard, nicely retro

Now THAT looks cool! Only problem I see is that I'll be tempted to swing at the carriage return at the end of the line and send the iPad flying.

Tempting tempting...

Re: Trunk hardware?

Funny how you remember everything about it but the name :)

To me, it's Lee Valley (leevalley.com). They have a huge catalog of hardware besides tools, gardening, and bikinis. Okay, 3 of those.

Re: Ribbon Striped Sapele

I love ribbon Sapele. My decent hardwood supplier stopped selling, though, so I have no good supplier.

Is this commercial 1/42" thick veneer or thicker? In the past, I cut my own cuz my supplier...

Definitely would like to see more about that. So......

Re: Rumors ...

That reminds me of that movie "Summer School" IIRC. Each day, more tape recorders are left on student desks as they skip out on class. One scene, there are nothing but tape recorders and the prof. ...

Or, the vacuum turbine.

Now, one day, my dim neighbor came over and marveled at my dust collector. He said, "man, that thing could suck the butt right off a cat". I really have no idea what that...

Re: If you use Norton be aware. . .

Re: DJ-1 Universal Jaws up for order!

As much as I had fun anodizing some custom Qwas dogs, I don't think I'd want to try doing it to anything "BCTW".

Being on topic (WTF is that?!), I used the DJ-1 again this past weekend; excellent...
