Re: Mac Users ,,,,,Snow Leopard ????

No problems with Snow Leopard at all for me. Tom's got all the details on Lion. You'll need Snow Leopard so you should upgrade now so any settings are established before Lion. Best part about Lion...

Re: SoCal Jointmaker Pro Get Together

I put an offcut of Genuine Mahogany in the vice and planed against the grain and it came out smooth.

Flipped it around for some fun. Set...

Re: Key Cabinet

Nice cabinet! Like the look of the Pine and I love the look of bamboo ply.

My only concern with the full-length rails is expansion; the normal full-length stiles don't grow in height appreciably. ...

Re: Another Great Lee Valley product

I blogged about it here (http://www.halfinchshy.com/2010/05/handiest-bandsaw-thingy.html) as there are other uses with a featherboard (shop-made or purchased!)

You can see it in use in this...

Re: Cherry Pencil Post Bed

Nice bed, Tom... and HUGE room! :)

Whenever I think of those pencil-post beds, I wonder if anybody has issues with the wood moving later after cutting the octagonal sides. Did you experience any?...

Re: Another Great Lee Valley product

Ha, the famous push stick. I have one; came with my saw. Kinda not so useful; I use it as a hand-held featherboard sometimes.

Favorite push 'stick' is a block of Oak with a Domino sticking out...

Re: Another Great Lee Valley product

I liked this roller stand because you can tilt the top; my garage floor isn't flat in the least so my existing roller stands (both $9; can't make em for that) are cockeyed to the table due to the...

Re: DMT sharpening system reviews?

I've had one on order for 10-14 days now. Usually as soon as I assume I've been completely forgotten by Woodpeckers, I finally get the 'mailroom' email saying it shipped. Then add many more days. ...

Re: SoCal Jointmaker Pro Get Together

I was looking at a color camera/DVR that would actually fit inside the binoculars (these are small sport binoculars, too). Only 1" diameter by 2.5" long. Records up to 2 hours of SD. Best part...
