Well, it's official, it will be returning to Cincinnati September 16-18th, 2016.

Who's going? I might, still dreaming of the Mexican mac and cheese at Nada!

Even more fun is watching someone who has never used a hand plane make a set.

For you fashionable guys, they sell a "Chopstick Master" shirt, so you'll look the part!

Re: The WMT No. 2500 Router Plane

Cool,

I never thought much about the usefulness of a router plane until I actually used one and now I would classify them as mandatory in a hand tool shop.

Re: FS 3000 and TS 75

Yea,

Thought about the price difference after ordering, just a couple hundred more buys a long rail.

The long level works nice, just found that I have to do it each time I move the guide, I...

Re: Chicago's own Jeff Miller - FWW Jack Plane review

Love me my Lie-Nielsen scrub plane; before I got my power jointer back working, I would use it to take a rough edge to semi straight before using my Bedrock #8 to make it beautiful.

Re: Boat Shop Bench- New Boat Project

Might have missed it, but is this a for profit company type build, bunch of friends hanging out having fun building a boat or something else?

Very cool thread, thanks for "bringing" us along.

Re: Chopstick Master announced!

The Paduak planes nicely and looks great in the finished state. I also did a few in cherry that came out nicely.

As Peter pointed out, you can easily cut your own: 7mm square by 270mm long. Length...

Re: Don't polish that cast iron top!

Before you do any cleaning, check with a local shop that does grinding; I had a bandsaw table done several years ago and it wasn't very expensive and it came out flat, smooth and looking like new.

Re: Chopstick Master announced!

I've used purpleheart, paduak and cherry so far. I started to cut blanks out of yellow heart and blood wood, but stopped when the dust "tickled" my nose like cocobolo does- figured the toxicity might...

Re: Chopstick Master announced!

I am in possession of one of the prototypes currently and can tell you that it is addictive and fun.

I've let a few of the ladies at work make sets and they were very excited to have made them....

Re: Forrest Blades

Big fan of Forrest blades, just bought another on their recent sale, they had said it would be 5-6 weeks, but it was only a couple. I had to get the blade reamed out to fit a 1 1/8" arbor, so I...

Re: DIY router table

Nobby,

I just used a commercial router lift for mine, just cut a hole and rabbet a ledge to hold it and then you get really precise adjustments.

Re: Toe Kick Height for Kitchen Cabinets?

Thanks guys,

Sounds like I should make the toe a bit higher, my book has two different numbers in it; 4 3/4" is listed for face frames, I suppose so the frame to floor is 4" in the end.

Toe Kick Height for Kitchen Cabinets?

It appears that 4" is the industry standard. Does that change if I'm going to install flooring around the cabinets rather than on top of the floor?

Should I make the toe kick 4 3/8" if my tile...

Re: Lie-Nielsen Honing Guide is out

I have no interest in learning to sharpen free hand. I sometimes don't get into the shop for months and I'm betting my muscle memory would keep needing to be refreshed. The jig is fast enough for me,...
