Re: My Sander Got Insulted.

Neil,

Here in town people refer to Seven Corners as "Meca!" 10 lbs of stuff in a 5lbs sack. They have just about everything. I haven't been there in a while, so don't know if they have demo units...

Re: New Project for LACMA

Guys,

Isn't obvious why the trailer is still there? Most art museums regularly lend out parts of their collections to other museums and they'll need a way to ship it.

Re: My Sander Got Insulted.

Peter,

Yes, it must have been the RO 150, he doesn't own the model that was recomended to me by many of the people here, I'll have to see about a local dealer.

Re: My Sander Got Insulted.

Guys,

Thanks for the extra information to clog my tiny pea brain. I do have a Snap-On 5hp 40 gallon comp. in the garage I can't remember the exact CFM, either 13 or 17 comes to mind, so I believe...

Re: A top for a Roubo

Fred,

That is a fun trick to pull on people who are working with you on a project. You say "I've got x inches on my end, what does yours say?" catches most people off guard. Yes, I'm easily amused.

Re: A top for a Roubo

How about when you measured left to right- same as right to left?

If the one end of the ruler was five inches, what was the reading on the other end?

Re: A top for a Roubo

Okami,

Since Fred is doing everything by hand, I imagine he will be ripping hoofs off of animals and making his own hide glue!

Re: My Sander Got Insulted.

Hello Mike,

Thanks for all the information, I hope all is well in your world! I'm pretty sure that the ES 125 is the right sander for me, now just need to find some spare cash. I'm not in a hurry...

Re: Drilling Question,,,,,,,

Well Roger,

Since you called me out, I'll see if I can be useful. I think if you drew some cross hairs through the middle of the hole and removed the outriggers on the DJ-1 you could just clamp...

Re: My Sander Got Insulted.

Roger,

I'm not sure if I'll be going to WIA West yet, I did put in my vacation days for the time period, a JMP get together would probably seal the deal. It would be great to see your shop and...

Re: My Sander Got Insulted.

Roger,

Good to hear from you. No question on getting the CT vacuum; my Shop Vac is not variable speed, although it has a Clean Stream HEPA filter and is a quiet version and works well for the drum...

Re: A top for a Roubo

I often give Fred a lot of crap here, on the phone, in person and in emails; no longer, after he saws all those boards he will have biceps large enough to smash watermelons or annoying people's...

Re: My Sander Got Insulted.

Rob and Peter,

I had overlooked the ETS, and thought I was getting into a $300+ sander. The ETS is much more economical. For the vacuum, I currently use a Shop Vac on both my drum sander and the...

My Sander Got Insulted.

Hello,

I had a friend and fellow Guild member over last week to work on some trophies for our upcoming show and he was going to sand some parts while I cut some others. My random orbital is a 5"...

Re: Congratulations to Peter for his Pop Wood Winning Article

Fred,

I'm pretty sure they wouldn't want the article published on the Internet before it goes to press. So instead maybe you could write what you think Peter might have wrote for our amusement. Or...

Re: Harold & Saxon Paring Chisels

Okami,

With that many chisels, Fred just tosses them in the trash when they get dull and grabs a fresh one off of the rack.

Re: Saratoga Springs, the NWA Showcase, and a new prototype.

I'm sure Fred will send you his picture- make sure you specify clean pictures; those scantily clad ones he uses on his Christmas cards are a bit disturbing!
