Re: Moving the Big Stuff

John,

Re: Moving the Big Stuff

John,

I helped my friend move a 1,200 lb surface grinder from the floor to on top of a custom mobile base. I told him we would get it on there, but I didn't know how, just that it would get done!...

Re: Moving the Big Stuff

John,

Go Egyptian on those tools if needed; several pieces of 1" pipe underneath them and they'll move around pretty easy.

Re: So How's Your New JMP Precision Fence?

Correction on the "C" clamps, they only come with the tenon arm set, not the bias arm, which is an accessory to the tenon arm. I happened to have two clamps, because I ordered two tenon arms, one for...

Re: So How's Your New JMP Precision Fence?

Mike,

Some people wished they ordered an extra "C" clamp for the tenon arm. It comes with one, which works fine in the bias arm because your stock is captured in the "V," should also be enough in...

Re: So How's Your New JMP Precision Fence?

Chris,

I suppose you could mount both fence on one saw if your stock was thin; or you could just have several saws set up for different cuts!

Re: Shiny bronze things...

I just looked at the web site and didn't see it, maybe it hasn't sold well, I've bought one for the last bunch of years and really liked it, be a shame if they stopped.

Re: Woodworking and Wine Drinking.

Chris,

Doesn't really matter, I bet you could sell it to the hard core wine people anyways. John, Peter, Chris and I have something for you- bring lots of money!

Re: Cutting dovetails on the JMP. Any advice is welcome

The 88 degree undercut is what makes the guide so good, it prevents gaps at the shoulder.

Re: Cutting dovetails on the JMP. Any advice is welcome

Mike,

Here's a picture of the paring guide; came in 3 sizes, I was too lazy to dig mine out, but had the 6" one on the bench, I think 12" and 18" are the other two sizes.

Mike,

Clamping is king on the JMP, once you figure it out everything works better. Took me several blades and tries, but somehow I get good hold down now, can't really put my finger on it, just...
