Re: Who's buying the New Carvex?

I'll add the Milwaukee M12 to the above list. Its all I use now. The Bosch just collects dust. I keep it in my truck mostly for cutting down material at the lumber yard. For around $100 you just...

Re: Clamp racks

What Pete said. I had the Grizzly version of that rack for a couple years in the shop. It was nice to be able to roll it to where you were doing your glueups but the floor has to be clean otherwise...

Re: Out with the old...

Thanks. Your summary is pretty much what I've researched so far. I bought a few ten packs of Brilliant initially. Went looking to load up on Granat and had a hard time locating what I wanted from one...

Re: Sticky TS 55 REQ???

I have the TS55 REQ. Other than the usual Festool startup rumble (same as my TS75) it sounds like every other circular saw to me. No stickiness, very smooth through all actions.

I'm new to the...

Re: Out with the old...

I ended up going home with a couple small packs of the brilliant for both sanders. Maybe I'll try the granat next.

Friend of mine just bought the Mirka for his cabinet shop and loves it.

I have...

Re: Sure is quiet around here.

Thought the lack of activity was just me. Been a rough year on a lot of fronts, so I haven't built a damn thing since my bench last winter.

In order to keep my sanity though I totally revamped &...

And I thought Festool was expensive...

Nice Miter Saw table. And since its stainless steel, you could even butcher a deer after your crown molding is up. I suddenly find Festool affordable...

Re: Source for Roubo top...

The 72" x 24" would be $1062 shipped (my top is 72x28). I paid about that, maybe a little more for all the maple in my bench. So if you roughly halve that for the top (I'm guessing)... your paying...

Source for Roubo top...

Wish I'd known about this a few months ago. I paid almost as much for material alone. Could have saved a bunch of time and effort...

Re: Kapex vs Makita LS1216L 12"?

I bought the LS1016L Makita over the Kapex for one reason... ergonomics. I had used a freind's Kapex on a job over the course of a week or so doing a bunch of trim. To me the pull down, vertical...

Re: Your opinion on this?

Nice idea, but once I read it didn't include the Incra track it suddenly felt way over priced.

Re: "No Comment #2" - Full project build in one video :)

I watched this Paul, 2am the other night during one of my bouts of insomnia on my iPad mini sideways in bed with the sound off. So, even if it was Enya for the soundtrack... it still didn't put me to...

Re: Hybrid Roubo Build...

I finalized a few things on the vise that were cobbled together until I knew the vise would work.

I secured the wooden nut with Spax screws but left them a little lose so the nut just kind of...

Re: Hybrid Roubo Build...

Well, here she is. The box gets bolted up to the underside of the bench with 5/16" Spax screws. Then you just slide the vise assembly into the box and engage the nut. So far no creaks or cracks. In...
