Re: 144 feet of funkin'

Funny looking at this time warp of a thread. A year later I have two 144 workshops.

Re: New Festool sanders ... and a sale!

Went to a new Woodcraft in the area and they had on display the new RTS and DTS (no Pro5). They felt nice, the new power switch is a good improvement, and I really like the edge protectors. I think i...

Re: 144 feet of funkin'

It's a shame that I seem to be the only one posting in this section. I issue a challenge to post your shops.

As for mine, the new shop hasn't been started yet and I'm not sure when it will. Still...

Re: Evils of diet soda?

The health impact of sugar substitutes are undecided, at best. I've seen some studies that state they are harmful, others that state they are no worse for you than water. I believe the cancer risk...

Re: 144 feet of funkin'

I could legitimately use two more big tools: a dust collector and a drum sander. Otherwise, yes, I really am in need for space for all the little things and a space where I can cobble something...

Re: 144 feet of funkin'

Been busy lately, testing out some stuff I've wanted to do for awhile. I built a new router table base that also doubles as storage for my Festool router systainers.

I also decided I had enough of...

Re: 144 feet of funkin'

Work and school keep me fairly tethered to my desk these days, so I take little daydream breaks by designing bigger shops. It's a funny thing, but when I got to a 20x24 shop build, I can't for the...

Re: 144 feet of funkin'

Been well over a year since I posted last on this. I did fit the MFT, and I'm so very glad I did. It's the centerpiece of the shop.

Starting in the right corner next to the door:

Mini Chaos Theory

Originally posted on FOG, but I wanted to post here as well.

I was obviously inspired by Guido Henn here, I just adapted it for my smaller space. These are the first drawers I've done that...

If perhaps it keeps going, I'll volunteer my time in some capacity. I work from home and I am on the computer all day anyway.

Re: Second Festool sander wanted

I did pick up the hard pad, and I will be picking up a wider selection of grits starting at the end of the month. Fill in the higher grits first, probably. Still have 15 or so discs of the low stuff...

Second Festool sander wanted

Greetings. I've not posted as much here as I had hoped, but I need your assistance now. I've asked on FOG, but I can't seem to reach a consensus.

Situation: I have a very nice PC 390K that I am...

Re: 144 feet of funkin'

Today was one of those days where it started out very promising and turned to crap by the end. I'm always just shy of the room I need for ANYTHING. Was going to hang my vac from the roof braces, but...

Re: 144 feet of funkin'

Thanks. I do see all these toys people have and all I want to do is buy, buy, buy. Sometimes. I really wish I had room for a MFT, is probably the last 'big' thing I think I would want. Actually,...

Re: 144 feet of funkin'

I would still need the larger can for the jointer, and in particular the planer (unless I discharged to a bag or something). Due to space and power purposes, a true DC has to wait until at least a...

Dust collection

This is what I've come up with, about the best I can reasonable conceive. Ignore the open area to the left/bottom, as I'm using the...

Re: 144 feet of funkin'

The in-depth tour. Linking the pictures this time.

When we bought this house six years ago, there was this shed in the back yard. It had modly carpet and curtains, and 1/4" plywood walls (inside...

Re: 144 feet of funkin'

The table saw came about early in my hobby, and got it for a great deal. I only discovered the benefit of Festools earlier this year. I'd love to have an MFT or two in the shop, and I've investigated...

Re: 144 feet of funkin'

It wasn't very apparent, but there was a stack of Tanos systainers on the edge of that last photo. I have a TS55REQ with a 1900 rail, a DF500, and several Tanos sys's to store some things in.

144 feet of funkin'

Welcome to my shop. It needs help.

When I say 144 feet, I actually mean a bit less. Around 136 feet when you factor in walls. It is also seven feet tall to the rafters/what's left of the ceiling....
