Re: Base ideas for this slab?

My free time has been more restricted the past number of years. Tables still are probably my favourite thing to build, and I've been trying to find a design that looks good and doesn't require too...

Jigsaw Puzzle Table

I miss you guys! I've been really busy with a lot of things lately including seeking Festool at Clermont's Ultimate Tool Supply, but I did have time to make this table. It's black walnut and...

Re: Mirka CEROS and Abranet

Have you considered the RO90, which has the versatility of the Rotex sanders, with the added feature of the detail delta (triangle) shaped head. How about a combination of RO90 and RO150, with...

re: Fred West

I'm sad to have found this thread only today, as a result of my busyness. I'm really sad to hear of Fred's passing and I will miss him. That's all I the words I can string together now, as I'm...

re: Review of the Kreg K5 Pocket Hole Jig Set

Okay, I just decided that I'd rather have a K4 (http://sauerandsteiner.blogspot.ca/2013/09/introducing-k4.html). :D

re: Review of the Kreg K5 Pocket Hole Jig Set

Is there more to come?

So far, I'm not really impressed with the K5. The K3 and K4 have the depth collar setting gauge built right in so it won't get lost. Since I use my K3 mostly for jigs,...

re: Review of the Kreg K5 Pocket Hole Jig Set

Picky customers! I'd be impressed to see a bunch of wholes lined up :Laughing2:

Pocket holes aren't used in my furniture. They do, however, get used often for jigs. I like their strength and...

Re: Small T squares

Interesting. I didn't realize you had that version too, and I find your comparison useful. I've looked at the Veritas Sliding Square for many years, but haven't pulled the trigger. I keep a 4"...

re: Review of the Kreg K5 Pocket Hole Jig Set

I'd be interested. I had a quick look at it the other day and it looks like a good upgrade from the K3... but good enough to warrant the upgrade? Yes, the K4 was a step backwards.

Re: Small T squares

Paul,

Those T-squares look similar to the Veritas Sliding Squares which, to me, seem more useful because of the sliding blade. No various lengths, however.

The Versatility of Rare Earth Magnets

I'm sure that we've all played with these magnets before, but check out what this Canadian industrial designer did with them.

I'm not including any pictures here because they really don't do it...

Re: CMS Power Switch

The only downside to your solution is that it may be slightly more costly, and does not offer the option of an additional outlet at the CMS. I think that switch is a great option.

a receptable into which you can plug the...

re: BCTW 30th Anniversary Gala

You can count me in for all the fun you can find. But if you want me to play "hood ornament", I require goggles.
