Thanks Mike, I'll keep an eye out for the extension jaws -- they should be very useful.

I usually do spin the DJ-1 knobs down to "contact" which should take care of most any slack but I've found...

I'm wondering if I missed the opportunity to pre-order the extension jaws for the DJ-1 jig??? On March 16 John mentioned in his blog that later that week the jaws would be available for pre-order. ...

I've gotten into the habit of always applying a clamp to the DJ-1, usually a spring clamp. With that I don't even bother locking the jig screws and it hasn't failed me yet. :thumbsup2:

That will be an easy accessory to make using your new DJ-1 & either a hardwood dowel or aluminum round stock -- you can custom drill the bore for your preferred pen/pencil and cross drill the bushing...

I just checked my set -- the bushings are flush with the top of the foam, it's not at all problematic to "pinch" the sides of the bushing to pull it out. If you prefer to have them setting higher...

Just drop a few washers or cut-lengths of dowels in the holes to jack the bushings up to a convenient height.
