Default Hovarter Custom Vise at WIA

One of the items that I was very interested to "kick the tires" on at WIA was the Hovarter Vise. Since I wasn't able to attend I'm curious about the impression of others that did attend the show.
It looks like a really good design & manufacture from a distance but again "hands on" evaluation is important.
It does concern me a bit that once the cam has engaged there is only 1/4" of travel which would be OK for most clamping but there are times when it's useful to "squeeze" joints, etc. for a greater distance.

Any thoughts?

Ron, I didn't get a chance to visit the Hovarter booth, so I can't be of much help to you.

The design of the vise does look very interesting though.

Bummer! I didn't even notice that Hovarter was there at the show! I would have loved to try one of his vises. I wish I'd paid more attention...

Hey. I wanted to go for ribs!

Or White Castle - I've still never eaten there. After Scott's recommendation, I'm not sure I ever will!

Oh yeah, you've got to dine at White Castle at least once in your life. May I recommend a plate of sliders with a fine (twist cap) wine...

True, many of the better wines now come with twist off caps these days.

I've never had a White Castle burger (slider?) either. I have seen them in the freezer section of local supermarkets, but I'm guessing those aren't the same as the real thing.

Ron's right at least once, kinda like a Greatful Dead concert, or Cincinnati chili. I get a craving every five years or so. Did you know they have holes in them?

Do you have a link for the vise? I wish I saw it as well.
