Good for you Per. That looks like a great camcorder. Using it for business or pleasure?

Tom.

Both of those words have the exact same definition in the Swenson dictionary.

Little secret,

The other half of Swenson & Swenson is a retired world class photographer/cinematographer.
Granted he retired before the advent of the digital age.
There is a 16mm arriflex sitting upstairs and well frankly thats a brick.
Just like the Hasselblads. And the rub is, what took 50 grand to produce in 1976 and 76 dollars, can be done right now fer peanuts.

Besides that, not only did I have the opportunity to grow up in the studio shop, I grabbed a little interest in production.

And I think every one should deal with their midlife crisis, I turned 50 this week, by finally doing and accomplishing what we could very possibly be good at. Or not

But If we don't try, just comes out as I coulda or I shoulda.

I know what you mean Per. I had the video bug hit me about 7 years ago. Bought a nice camcorder, filters, lens, software.

Recorded about 2 hours worth of video and made a couple of small family movies before I decided the software was too much hassle.

But, at least I tried it, and know a bit about it. I know enough that it's not for me but I conquer it if I ever have to.

Per, I'm just a few months behind you, and I completely agree about the mid-life crisis thing. This is my mid-life crisis. Buying expensive power tools, and challenging myself to make something nice with them. I'm having a great time doing it.

Isn't it funny that for my mid-life crisis, instead of the red sports car and having an affair with a 20 year old, I'm buying green power tools, and chatting up middle-aged men on the internet? Something's wrong with this picture.

And how is 50 mid life? Are we all seriously expecting to live to be 100? Apparently I've gotta eat more eggs for breakfast!

No it's not the car,

Its just lack of direction and purpose.
When you are young and immortal...you think there is always time to
to do what you do best.

So you work with what you know.
I know a hot car buys me a hot women.
They have been selling that ideal for years, so even the women buy it.
But talent, well, thats another thing.

In our Norwegian upbringing putting the ego out front has always been a taboo. But, in the same vein, service and helping others has been the antithesis to that.
Combined with hard work. Well. Come on you would by it? No?

Per
