Here are pictures of attaching the rear brass to the M12. Once the angled slot is cut into each side to receive this piece it is screwed in place with three purpose - made screws on each side. These are then sawn off with band saw and milled proud to allow for peening. All other joining surfaces are also peened and then all is milled or filed flush . A good result is one where there is no evidence of a join -as seen in the last high resolution picture.
That M12 is almost in the bag .
