Default Damston panel clamps

I just came across these panel clamps:

Products | damstom.com

I gather that they're new to the US.

They look like a great - and relatively inexpensive - tool for clamping up panels.

Peter,

That picture is huge.

Looks like they supply Rockler with a custom blue one.

Yes - sorry about the huge picture. I just put a link directly to the web page...

Interesting about the Rockler color - I wonder if they're sold there? I'll check.

Just checked: Rockler does carry them ($60 each).

According to one reviewer, you get one clamp, not a pair, for $60.
Also, several people got pop up of a middle board in a multi-board glue up and had real trouble tapping the glue-up flat while the glue was still wet. They felt the design flexed them on them , which allowed the shifting of that board.
I would stay away from these as they don't seem as rigid as other clamp designs .

I like my Bowclamps to keep panels flat. I get them under modest pressure on the flat before applying edge pressure with separate clamps.

I was wondering about the pop up, Callan. They do look a bit flimsy - that open side would allow the two faces to compress, giving some flex.

I'm with Alex - I use Bowclamps for all my panels. But I have to say that sometimes those glue-ups are pretty nerve-wracking!

And yes, I believe you do get only one clamp for $60, so they're not cheap.

The last I knew, Craig still gives the "talkFestool discount" when you call and order Bowclamps from him directly. I bought two master sets this way a few years ago.
