But, I see that Dan has not yet updated his web site to reflect the fact that he is selling the Walko.

Maybe he does not want to scare us with the even higher Canadian prices.

I went into my local Woodcraft and asked about the Walko. They had decided not to carry it until the warehouse had stocked up because they otherwise had to order too many to justify the inventory cost. Once the warehouse had them then they could order fewer and were planning to get some in.

Remember, they are pricey and these guys are independent owners.

Will let be posting pricing and availability once I hear back from WalkoUSA.

Hi Guys

We now have Canadian prices for the Walko Workbench

They are:

$910 for the Walko 3
$1125 for the Walko 4

Price includes shipping anywhere north of the border (I'd say the 49th but we all know people in the Greater Toronto area are actually below the 49th parallel)

We will hopefully have something up on the website by the end of the weekend.

Cheers
Dan Clermont

Dan, that's about how much I expected to pay. Now, I need to figure out how much use I would make of one if I were to purchase it.

It sure would be nice if I could get to use one somewhere before making a purchase or not decision. Dan, have you ever used (or even seen) one?

Hi Frank

I have not used the Walko. The price is pretty much the US price multiplied by the current exchange.

Those who wish to pay in US funds can do so.

Cheers

Hello

Hi guys i have been using one for a little while it is surprisingly versatile.

I had heard that they chose bamboo as a bench because it is weatherproof. well that i am not sure of long term but i have kept one inside and safe and the other outside since i got it here they are side by side the one on the right in the side by side and the one on the top is the one that has been left out in the weather.

Thanks Craig

Hi Craig, (and others)

Interesting test and we have to make a comment on this; we do not say the bamboo is weather proof, we state it is rain proof. If you leave your bench (read table tops) in the rain for a while there is no problem. We advice not to expose them to rain for longer than 24 hours. Also, we do not advice to expose wet tops to frost. Bamboo is still a natural product.

Walko Dude

I agree that you should not leave it out and I take full responsibility if anything bad happens to it, but it is good to know that a high end product works even better than advertised...... That is funny! Me, Preaching to you about your product.

Thanks for the clarification

Craig

Did you see the full-page Woodcraft Walko ad in the latest Fine Woodworking?
