Shawn,

Well the first reason is that it was not on my bench and secondly, do you think I am going to actually use it???? Well, okay I am and have but all of the evidence is on the floor next to my bench.

Gentlemen,

This plane cuts beautifully and exactly as pictured. I am really pleased to say the least.

Thank you guys for the very nice comments and others. Trevor is correct in that Raney does use a French Polish and it is not only beautiful it feels amazing.

Fred, I hope you know that our comments about the extremely tight (fixed) mouth of the plane are really compliments on Raney's work.

Michael,

Yes I do but thank you saying so. Just for fun I took the pictures below and at the end you will see three planes that need to be identified by maker and model number. John and Peter are not allowed as they know the answers.

Although the styling is completely different from each other, if I were to take a guess I'd say they are all made by Raney

Hee hee! I know who made which one.

And I'm totally jealous of all of them. Man, there are some skillful plane makers out there!

I'm totally jealous of all Fred's tools. In fact, I'd hate the guy if he wasn't so damned nice.

BTW: Good luck on your surgery tomorrow, Fred.

Ya, well, if it makes you feel any better, I'm totally jealous of all your tools too, John.
