Thanks sparky,

I hope the book ships to my hotel room before I leave. I'm going back to Ohio for a 10 day break on the 22nd. If not it will be here when I get back I guess.

PS I had a dog named sparky when I was 4...not exactly a real dog but a stuffed toy dog...took him everywhere I went. Never mind his name... suffice it to say I was a mischievous kid I'm told.

Ok, I must have missed something somewhere? What are you doing living in a hotel room in Texas?

I get the "Sparky is a dog's name" a lot. Just a nickname I picked up in college. Had something to do with highly flammable moonshine, an older dormitory (also surprisingly flammable...), and an errant ash from a stogie...

Ok, not really, but thats much more interesting than the real reason, so I'm going to go with it.

If you sign up for an evening vo-tech class down there (for access to the tools) you could build one down there to pass the time.

I am here at a new job. I'm setting up dialysis centers in rural towns in West Texas. I wasn't able to find a rental place in this town so It's the Hotel until I move on to Lubbock or Dumas in the next few weeks to months. I'm not going to settle out here just yet. My original plan was to move out here and manage 3 or 4 of the new units, but so far i'm not sold on west Texas. so I may figure out a way to go back to Ohio before my house sells. then I won't have to move my shop.

I did get a call from a recruiter to go to Roswell, NM. I may go there next weekend to check it out. The town looks nicer than where I'm at when I looked it up on the internet.

They have an advanced technology that enables them to always stay directly behind where you are looking no matter how fast you are...

Maybe I'll order a bunch of Festools from Bob Marino and promise to pay him when i return from Roswell...then when he tries to collect the money I'll tell him a story about being abducted by aliens.

Ok... not a perfect plan but it's a start!

Sparky,

I made something to go with your wood plane. A plane adjusting mallet.

Gaboon Ebony head and curly maple handle

The handle is tapered but I think I will make straight handles for future ones.

I have ebony I was saving for my wood plane soles but I found a check that takes away too much of the length. So I will be taking orders for these guys.

I can do the handles in curly Maple, ribbon Sapele, or Cherry.

60.00 each plus shipping
