The plane works that wood without tearout?
The HNT Gordon plane works the curly maple like it was made for it. The maple in the pics was not sanded at all.

Those prices look very good! They are about 3-1/2 hours away from me.

the shipping isnt all that bad if you consider how good the prices are. I think I calced it at about another 1.50 per bf for added for shipping from Ohio to SoCal. Even with that added on the price is much lower than anywhere else. Much lower.
Plus you guys will get another 5% off just by telling Chad I refered him to you.

I got my stock blanked on one side so he could send me pics before I ordered. He can surface it for you as well, I just prefer to do that myself. He will also pick out wide stock and bookmatches. Wide stock (over 10") and book matches are higher priced because they are just more valuable. Even still his prices for wide stock and bookmatches beat the pants off regular stock prices every where else.

I hate to stick my nose where it don't belong, but here goes anyway.

This is where I have been getting my wood. It is in Rapid City SD and their prices are very good

Wood Stock Supply, Inc. - Wholesale Catalog

Here are some of the prices from a month ago.

4/4 hard maple (1&2) - $2.53 BF
4/4 northern red oak (fas) $2.17 BF
4/4 ash - $1.51 BF
4/4 hard maple (#3) - 1.50 BF (I wish I would have bought this, just had a bit of brown in it.)

I have no idea what the shipping would be.
