Michael,

Dont you mean those are the tiniest tails? the picture shows the pins with cutouts for the tails. Those pins are actually quite large with the spaces for the tails being small.

Okami,

I think if you changed your layout to make the tails larger and your pins smaller you would have an easier time. Correct me if I am wrong but I think that smaller pins make for a nicer looking joint as long as the material can take it. Tails that small make for a weak joint.

You are right. I often get those terms mixed up.

Take a look at cutting cabinet grade dovetails in 3:40 minutes -- Once I can do that I'll be happy!
