Default Suggestion for improvement

Okay it's really a complaint but I didn't want the title to be negative.

About he notebook icon at the left of a category. Sometimes it has a pencil on top. I'm assuming that means there is a new posting in that category.

If so, it doesn't update like it should. I have to visit the category twice to get the pencil to go away.

In other words, it would be nice to have a clear indication of where the new posts actually are. Even better, I'd like a "new posts since your last visit" function.

I've noticed that too. It's not as accurate as the Unread Messages indicator we're used to.

I feel the same way and was missing that feature. But last night I seen it. It's on the menu going across the top starting with UserCP.

Regarding the Unread Messages indicator, I'm working on that today.

Regarding "New Posts", check out "New Posts" in the Nav Bar at the top of the page.

Regards,

Dan.

Default New Posts has been Changed

I fixed the New Posts so that it is tracked in the database and your status is updated as soon as you refresh the page.

This should solve the issue.

An easy way to mark all forums as read is to go to the Nav Bar and click on Quick Links, then click on second one down Mark Forums Read. This marks all the forums as read.

Default Marking a single forum "Read"

You can also mark a single forum as "Read" from that forum's "Thread Tools" drop down. (Check out the announcement.)

Dan.

Ah Ah, more hidden tools. Just what I've been looking for. Thanks.

Default That's what is nice about vB...

Lots of nice tools just waiting to be used. We've just scratched the surface.

For example, you know about the project management tools. But did you know that there are "Classified" addons that give you excellent functionality right out of the box?!? :sdrool:

Looks like this is fixed and works the way you'd expect.

If it seems that your experience is different, gentle reader, try marking all the forums read and clearing your browser cache. All will be well.
