Thanks,

This morning I finally received the email about the system being down.

Dear MiterMaster,

Don't come to talkFestool.com. We know it's surprising we're saying that, but until our service provider fixes some problems, you don't want to.

We are working on the problem now, and we will send you another email when we're running again.

Thank you for your patience.

I just got mine too, I think the problem may be with Yahoo, I frequently receive messages late from other forums as-well.

Think someone's trying to tell you something?

I was afraid of that, Greg. Thanks for confirming my suspicions.

Just type quietly and don't use any smilies for a few days and they won't notice.

As you can see, Charles, Michael is trying to recruit you in his efforts to ban emoticons, with some silly notion that if we all just write more articulately we don't need them. Of course this runs directly counter to Per's efforts to ban sesquipedalianism. How can we be articulate and erudite without a couple ten-dollar words tossed in? (This emoticon space left intentionally blank)

Either way, welcome aboard!

Hold on there Greg!

I'm totally on board with anti-sesquipedalianism.
I get all my words from the 99 cent store.

Also, I'm not trying to ban emoticons (not sure how to spell smileys), I'm just not as comfortable as some guys in using them, like ties, and parsley.

Charles,

Welcome back! It's good to see you here again.

Hmm... We've had several reports of members not receiving e-mails. Not good. OTOH, we've checked the e-mail system and done test e-mails. All of the test e-mails have gone through. It might be some network problem or a subtle bug in our system. It's tough to tell. We'll keep an eye on it.

Regards,

Dan.

I'm sure a few days conversing with Fed would make you feel more confident about decorating your prose with similes
