Can't wait to start using them tomorrow!
Hello, you have had almost a full day what is the verdict? Perspiring minds want to know.

ok ok I dragged myself to my shop this morning to play with my new toys

First I checked the vaccum hose that came with the sanding blocks--fits and works great on my ct mini.
Second, I put some 240 abranet on my 5" festool sander. I sanded about 30spft of maple ply, some of it still had some edgetape glue residue on it (that usually fills the paper up quite fast). my first impression was that the dust collection is as good, but that wasn't a surpirse as the mirka is just one piece of mesh. I also noted that it was easier to stick the paper on, as there are no holes to line up--not that this would be a big task..... anyhow, it helps.

It also looks like that the mirka is holding up a bit better than the festool paper. Time will tell.

Again, this was only my first try on mirka so please stay tuned for more!

Hmm... it seems everyone knows about this Mirka company but me!

Kinda sounds like the sister company i've always wanted...

Does that qualify me to free samples?

Mirko

I've always thought the same thing about "Ball Park Franks". Surely if they use my name, I should get a lifetime supply...

P.S. It was awfully tempting to name the kid "Ball Park". But since she's a girl, it just didn't fit...

I have a friend with the last name "Day." They named their children "Wendy" and "Dusty." When their daughter Wendy was proposed to, the suitor was told that is would be okay when he left 16 ponies in the yard. A week later an old 16hp John Deere mower was on their lawn. The wedding took place a few months later. :460::460: :anim_63:

Alex,

What a great story. More importantly did he get to keep the John Deere as that would have really been the clincher for me. :460: :anim_63: Well now I need to get some franks and beans and the pick up my Mirko sandpaper and get to work. :anim_63: :anim_63:

Happy New Year,

Fred

Har har. I once wrote a paper with a guy named Jamie Pringle, so the authors were "Pringle and Franks". Someone thought it was a shopping list for a picnic...

I grew up with a guy named Dusty Street. It didn't occur to me that it was a funny name until I was in my teens...

Yeah Fred, he got to keep the mower. Now he has a couple of grandkids, too!

My wife's cousins have the last name "Bell." They, however, did not name the kids "Church", "School" or "Wedding." I suppose the children appreciate that.

Update:

After using the paper for several days I thing I can give a better review

1. It lasts about 3X as long as the Festool sandpaper (festool lasts about 4X as long as Klingspor)
2. reattaching it to the sander is not always easy as the velcro on the paper wears out to fast. But it is possible! I just stick the disk back on, set the sander down and THEN turn it on. Otherwise the disk could fly away.
3. Festool paper is manufactured by Mirka!

overall I'm more then pleased and can highly recommend it!

Cheers,
Andreas
