Sure if you want that your router could work long time - dont take a big chip-size of one time. No more 1 mm.
At first glance I would worry about the aluminum shavings being hot enough to start a fire.

No. I didn't see a danger. Shaving is not hot. Maybe little a bit warm. I think this happens because there is fairly strong flow of air from router that cool shavings almost in a flash.

Basicaly 12mm and 24mm diameter. Full speed.

When I was beginning, I was afraid and try to make it with low speed. But at further I saw that all ok and increase speed on the top.

(sure I used safety glasses)

I decide to continue my experiments with processing of aluminium. So, now I made a pulley for my motor.

Sure, If would be honest it hasn't sense. As only experiment.

Sweet pulley! This thread is changing my mind about the capablities
of my tools. What is the grade of aluminum? I don't know anything
about grades of aluminum so I was wondering if there is a hardness scale
or whether it is anodized or not. Also I wonder what a chunk like that would cost?

Matt. I don't know exactly. I just took it and made pulley. Perhaps it could be duraluminium but possible not. I don't know. I bought it from man who don't know too.)

We all don't know))).

About cost. This piece - 150mm*150mm*30mm(photo below) has cost to me 7$. I may make a such pulleys 9 piece from it. If i will be thrifty.

Hello, I have some update in my jigs of this kind.

It is a next generation of my square making jig.

The first condition for this jig was 10 mm thickness. For working by small bits. About 4 mm

Great work, looks like it worked flawlessly. Do you get that nice of a cut off of your router, or do you use abrasives to clean up the cuts?

Thanx. Almost always there is no need to clean, cut is very accurate especially if I take sharp bit.
