No, Peter, systainers are neither food-grade nor insulated.
Jay, the training was great! I think it was more a mutual sharing of knowledge. Even Brian picked up a few new tips from the attendees. Bill did the math and figured out the perfect way to use the "outriggers" to place mutiple dominos on cabinet sides with no measuring or marks. I shared my domino cross-dowel technique and even had to use it on a screw up I perpetrated on a base cabinet. (Brian, if you read this, just look under the base.)
We got to try all the sanders. Brian demoed the 850 planer - awsome power and accuracy! We got a look at the CMS and Planex, but they don't have a firm date for introduction here. Apparently a few hoops to jump through with UL and product liability insurance, plus a higher capacity vac for the Planex.
Chris and Tim, who have cabinet shops, shared a few tips with the group. Andrew, an architect and woodworker, showed us one of his projects. I hope he posts it here or on FOG - amazing work, both design and execution.
Minnie arranged all the hospitality for us and is a great gal. Shane visited with us several times as Brian, Rick and Bruce (the Aussie) conducted the training. Shane also took the group picture on FOG and did so for each of us who brought a camera. The Festool staff could not have been more kind or accomodating to us.
Everyone there contributed to a fantastic experience! I wish I could just have a job being there full time.
