The rodeo. Well, we got them both in the "tub" gate and they went right into the trailer, but when the other guy tried to shut the partition gate in the trailer, they knocked it off the hinges, spooked and ran back into the tub. We had to shut the trailer, take the broken gate out and then get them back in. They just stood fast in the tub for about 15 minutes. I tried pushing the gate and poking them with a sorting stick, but 1900# of bisons don't have to do what you want them to. They finally just moseyed into the trailer on thier own; one even backed up 20 feet into the trailer. We safety chained the gates shut and took off for the meat locker. It was an uneventful drive from there.

We pickup the meat in two weeks.

No, Peter, systainers are neither food-grade nor insulated.

Jay, the training was great! I think it was more a mutual sharing of knowledge. Even Brian picked up a few new tips from the attendees. Bill did the math and figured out the perfect way to use the "outriggers" to place mutiple dominos on cabinet sides with no measuring or marks. I shared my domino cross-dowel technique and even had to use it on a screw up I perpetrated on a base cabinet. (Brian, if you read this, just look under the base.)

We got to try all the sanders. Brian demoed the 850 planer - awsome power and accuracy! We got a look at the CMS and Planex, but they don't have a firm date for introduction here. Apparently a few hoops to jump through with UL and product liability insurance, plus a higher capacity vac for the Planex.

Chris and Tim, who have cabinet shops, shared a few tips with the group. Andrew, an architect and woodworker, showed us one of his projects. I hope he posts it here or on FOG - amazing work, both design and execution.

Minnie arranged all the hospitality for us and is a great gal. Shane visited with us several times as Brian, Rick and Bruce (the Aussie) conducted the training. Shane also took the group picture on FOG and did so for each of us who brought a camera. The Festool staff could not have been more kind or accomodating to us.

Everyone there contributed to a fantastic experience! I wish I could just have a job being there full time.

I'm sure this isn't a new suggestion but wouldn't it be a good idea to setup a video camera(s) during the training sessions and then make them available on Youtube or perhaps even sell DVD's to a broader audience that can't make it to the training sessions???
We could then even enjoy watching people eating Rick's famous ribs...

Shane actually had a video camera running most of the time in our end of the shop. I don't know if there is intent to edit some video for resale or if it was just intended to keep tabs on the length of Brians afternoon nap. Sorry Brian had to do it. TIM
