It seems like a small arm to hang the router from and a lot of strain on the base. Looks like a cool alternative to the MFK though, for those of us who already have a 1010.

Thanks for the pics.

Kit, there is not much flex with the rig as it is shown. The OF 1010 would be the ideal router to use to avoid "muscling" the set up. The 1400 is longer and heavier, but as Tom pointed out...will work. As far as the downward pressure, it is not much at all. There can still be a fair amount of finesse implemented with the router.

I just picked up the 1010 in exchange for my MFK which I was very impressed with at first but soon realised it didn't quite fit my work especially with all the limitations of it being a very specialized router. Its main use is for edge trimming of laminate and narrow edging all of which I never do.

I have a balance of 211 and change coming to me and I will be ordering the edging plate stuff and bits.

I am curious to how to use the copy/scan accessories. Is there any info available on their use?

hey Scott, I won.

Eiji

Hey Eiji - Congratulations! You're a man now! You've got your 1010. Now you can start doing some real woodworking - like the rest of us!

Yea, I know

I got side tracked cause I was thinking bout all those 1/2 in router bits I have and the zero 8mm I have, Then... I got looking at sanders and ordered a RTS 400 and a bunch of consumables.

I'm gonna get the 93 also if I can find a plug-it adaptor lined up, just haven't had time to dig.

Thanks for demo'ing that Timmy.

It looks quite interesting. Are you using a bit with a bearing or do you adjust the height of the jig to flush up the trim.

No Sweat Dan! That is a straight bit in the "action photo." The micro adjust like most FT allows you to dial in pretty darned close.

I'll see if I can get a shot of the copier/scanner out of my camera in a bit (no pun intended )

Tim, I have some pictures of the copier/scanner set, I'll post them.

The copying set requires the angle arm, all components are sold separately.

I have the OF 1400, but if I get the edging setup I think I'll opt to get an OF 1010 also. There's a four pound difference between the two routers, and that's a lot when it's hanging out there for any length of time.
