Default SYS Box-1, Systainer with colored boxes.

Well, since no one else has posted here yet, I thought I kick things off, here goes.

Here is a short review of the SYS Box-1.

Here is a shot of the inside. This unit contains: 2 red (54 x 54 x 63 mm), 8 yellow (108 x54 x 63 mm), 2 blue (108x 108 x 63 mm) and 1 green (162 x 108 x 63 mm) compartments. The foam insert in the lid keeps items from migrating to other compartments.

I use this case to store my Kreg jig, pocket screws and plugs. It is perfect for this job.

The compartments are removable so you can take out just what you need.

The compartments also stack.

These things really are handy to have around, I can see myself getting a few more. One more thing, I would recommend you take a picture with all of the compartments in the right place so you can get them all back in if you ever get them mix up. Or you could save one of these pictures.

I sure hope not . I have one and it sure is handy. Ultimately I would like a number of them with different ensembles for different jobs. Woodworking box, cab install box, gen carpentry box. Im not sure of the ensembles but you get the point.

Right now I use the ones from "Stanley", (black suite case type deal with a clear lid and different size yellow boxes in side)
If small items are carried in them, they can get mixed up, unlike the Festool systainer that has the styrofoam lid insert, which keeps everything in its place.

It is listed on Bob's website. so me thinks it's still available. For the great price of 63.00 . The festool prices just kill me sometimes. I own the adjustable countersinks. They are the best you can get. Nothing touches them. The next best are the amana carbide countersinks but they have no collar. The amana's are about 28.00 and the Festool is 59.00. yet I still buy them and are happy with them. Some of my colleagues say I am crazy, though.

Here's another option if you don't have enough square drive screws

Festool Systainer and 1,300 Screws

The Sys 1 Box is still available for $63.

You can also get the colored compartments separately:
Red 12-Pack ($12.50),
Yellow 6-Pack ($9.50),
Blue 3-Pack ($6.50), and
Green 2-Pack ($6.50).

The foam lid insert can also be bought separately for $5.

With the separates and a Sys 1, you can customize to your needs.

Tom,

Can you get the insert that goes into the body of the SYS-1 (not the lid) separately?

This would be a great way to recycle SYS-1s, since the first storage upgrade for many is to get a bigger box, and then there are 1s lying around.

You can get several inserts, Ned.

I think the one you are thinking of might be the Base Foam Insert ($5).

There's also a set of inserts, the SYS-Vari SE, that has a foam base, a diced foam middle, and a dimpled foam lid insert for $19.

There's a set of 2 diced inserts, the SYS-Vari RM, for $13.50.

There are also specialized inserts like:

The SE-LR 32-SYS ($32.50), which is an insert for a the Hole Drilling Set.

The SE-KB-SYS ($25.50), an insert for the edge trimming accessories, like the Edging Plate and Angle Arm.

Hi,

The insert for the boxes is not listed seperately in the catalog. But I don't see any reason it could not be ordered as a part. Dealers?
