I don't recall off the top of my head what diameter the rods are but I do believe they are probably 8mm. Even if they are 10mm don't be shy about buying 5/16 (8mm), 3/8(10mm) or whatever close equivalent round stock at a hardware or HD. I am sure there is something close that will slide into your 1400 and lock. At that point you can make a wooden block with whatever pin setup you need for a pivot point.
