Wow wow wow wow wow wowee WOW!
That is one sexy hand plane!!! I don't even want to know the price, because right now, there is still hope I could get one as long as I delude myself enough. The moment I know the price, all hopes will quickly be dashed.

I definitely what a picture of it too. It will look pretty dang good on my 24" monitor next to my 17" laptop monitor with the picture Ron posted of his plane with the sun shining through the shaving.

Now I need to go figure out how to step up my game with the wooden plane...

The price isn't bad considering the tremendous number of operations and the amount of very precise machining required.

Ok, here we go.
If you would like an image of the CT-17 you can download one here:

http://www.bridgecitytools.com/videos/CT17.jpg

Some browsers will just view it for you. In that case, this works too:

Yeehaw!

I just saw it myself! It really isn't bad at all. I'm stunned. Hmmm, now I need to sell 10 wood planes really quickly...

Peter,

You had those images plastered in your house all this time?

I guess I have to sharpen my skills in "Remote Viewing"

Remote viewing - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I'll try to have them sharpened by the next time, so I could hover over John's shoulder as he's working at his monitors.

All that I can say is the man (Poto) has will power! To be sitting on this gem and not cracking -- You make a great spy under pressure.

Gee, I wonder WHO will get one of the very first planes out the door??? You've earned it and then some.

.

John has to make a poster of all the CT-17's together before he ships.
What would really be nice is a CT-17 "group" animation.

Re: Dinner with John Economaki (and a new tool!)
I would guess some sort of Black Chrrrooomme Plane. Perhaps an adjustable angle block plane? So useful. And Sawwwwweeeet, too!

John says nobody guessed it in his blog. I guessed it here. March1st. When the only clue was that he was inspried by his R/C Helecopter. Which has variable pitch blades to control the angle of attack. Just like a variable angle plane. :animal0032:
