Bowclamp Modern technology used to realize an age-old idea: a perfect bow shaped arc. The Bowclamp's patented design - made possible only with the help of computerized, numerically-controlled cutting technology (CNC) - allows for equal clamping pressure along the entire length of the glue line... with only one clamp at each end!

As has been pointed out a few times, the pressure from a clamp pad spreads out at about 45 degrees. If you put the 10 inch boards on the outside of the assembly you could get by with clamps spaced every 20 inches so you could easily clamp up an eight foot run with just the 3 and 4 foot Bowclamps.

i got a good deal on some 4/4 curly maple so i got 100 bdft of it. wood is random width 5"-10" and lengths 10'-12'. table will be a trestle type leaning more towards modern / contemporary. planning on 96"x42"-44". top will be 7/8" and 1.25"-1.5" around the perimeter. base wood hasn't been finalized yet but will most likely be walnut or walnut and cherry. this project will most not likely begin until spring.
Sounds like a great project!
Keep us up to date with it, if you can
