At 2" thick attached to a solid support underneath, I haven't been able to detect any deflection. That was my problem with everything I was working with prior... but this seems to have done the trick. I agree it will have to be awfully solid. Before this I did a lot of clamping to my table saw and shaper top. Nice and flat and solid.

I did once (that I know of at least) sell some bowclamps to a guy so he could screw them to the underside of a table he built, to remove the sag. I Thought that was cool.
